The Residency Program

Clarendon Creative is a residency committed to creative, interdisciplinary interventions to environmental and social challenges. Our residents are individuals or groups who want to make a change — from socially engaged art that shifts the conversations we have around climate change to educational tools to implement in curriculum and industry.

We seek blue sky and applied ideas that are committed to addressing real-world environment and social issues.

Consisting of an interdisciplinary residency program (for individuals and groups), educational workshops and living-lab activities, Clarendon Creative provides a space to reflect and engage with key ecological and social issues of our time and in the future.

Clarendon is located in the Adelaide Hills, 30kms south of Adelaide.

Creative Creative is committed to new ways of working for social change. Partnership is key to this remit. From codesigning climate change playful curriculum to collaborative residencies focused on Indigenous ways of being in the world, CC is about a caring New Normal.

Clarendon Creative is an initiative for furthering the creative and ecological invention of artist and activist, Noela Hjorth. It is about exploring social, ecological issues through experimentation, speculation, iteration and implementation.

Building a bespoke model from existing international best practice examples, Clarendon Creative is about fostering new types of collaboration and exchange that are interdisciplinary, playful and future-oriented.

The outcomes are process-based and framed around curated conversations responding to burning social and ecological issues.

Clarendon Creative fosters innovative thinking and making in response to environmental and social issues.
